Les Neal Cup: Takedown Rules

Rules for the Takedown competition to be held at Hornsby PCYC on Sunday, 01/05/2016.

1. First wrestler to gain 3 points wins
2. 1 point for takedown where the back is not exposed to the mat (If an attacking wrestler shoots and continues to improve their position without momentum stopping, they can earn the points if they finish on top, however if their momentum is stopped the defensive wrestler earns a point)
3. 1 point for pushing opponent out of wrestling area
4. 3 points for a takedown where the opponent is thrown directly to their back from a standing position
5. Match duration of 3 minutes
6. If the scores are tied at the end of the time limit, the wrestler who earned last points is awarded the win
7. Barring of joints and striking is not permitted
   (If there is any doubt in the case of attack and counter points, the attacking wrestler shall be rewarded)

Weight divisions are as follows

• Under 66KG
  • Under 76KG
  • Under 86KG
  • Open weight above 86KG max 120KG
