Three sessions to elevate your game: Psychology, Nutrition, and Integrity
*You only need to register once and you'll be enrolled into all the sessions*
To support the NSW Women's Wrestling Program 2026, we have been running a holistic seminar series designed to build the complete athlete, recognising that the toughest fights often happen before the match even begins. This series brings in industry experts to cover three essential pillars of performance outside of physical training.
🗓️ Upcoming Session
Session 3: Sport Safety – Saturday, 11 April 2026 (1pm-2pm)
Culture doesn’t change by accident, it changes by us. We’ve seen what happens when boundaries are ignored and accountability is missing in combat sports.
Join us for the final Beyond the Mat session, a critical safeguarding seminar hosted with Sport Integrity Australia. We’re moving beyond the talk and getting into the tools every athlete, coach, and gym owner needs to protect our community.
What we’re tackling:
✅ The Red Flags: Recognising inappropriate behavior before it escalates.
✅ The Standards: A clear breakdown of the National Integrity Framework.
✅ The Action: How to safely use the Safe Sport Hotline.
This isn't just a seminar; it’s a commitment to a better sport and it's FREE and open to all.
See you there!
📍 Location
Legacy BJJ Parramatta located at 253 Victoria Rd, Rydalmere NSW 2116

💡RECENT HIGHLIGHTS

Session 1: Performance Psychology with Madalyn Incognito from Condor Performance.
Our first seminar with Madalyn Incognito from Condor Performance provided a deep dive into the mental game, which experts estimate accounts for 80-90% of sporting success. Attendees explored the "action-focused" mindset, learning that peak performance isn't about just thinking positively, but about committing to practiced processes even when under extreme pressure or feeling uncomfortable.Key takeways:
- The Power of Actions: Participants learned that while we have little control over intrusive thoughts or emotions, we have total control over our actions.
- Action Goals: We shifted focus from outcome goals (like winning) to action goals (the specific efforts and techniques that lead to success), reducing performance pressure.
- Overcoming Adversity: Madalyn highlighted that even elite athletes like Michael Jordan and Roger Federer succeed while failing more than 50% of the time, emphasizing the importance ofrealistic expectations and resilience.
The feedback was exceptional, with participants already applying these mat-ready mental strategies to gain a competitive edge.

Session 2: Sports Nutrition with Advanced Sports Dietition Sally Walker
In this targeted session, attendees gained exclusive access to the expertise of Sally Walker, an Advanced Sports Dietitian with a career spanning nearly two decades in the elite high-performance circuit.
Drawing on her experience as the Lead Dietitian for the Australian Team at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, Sally transitioned from broad principles to practical, high-level advice tailored specifically to those in the room. Key highlights of the session include:
- Individualised Strategy: Sally moved beyond one-size-fits-all advice, providing bespoke tips tailored to each attendee’s specific sport and current training volume.
- Combat Sport Specialisation: Leveraging her deep expertise in combat sports, she addressed the unique challenges of making weight while maintaining explosive power and mental clarity.
- Sustainable Systems: The focus remained on building nutrition habits that integrated seamlessly into a demanding training load, rather than temporary quick fixes.
- Fueling for Recovery: Participants learned how to optimise their nutrient timing to enhance muscle repair and maintain metabolic health over a long season.
The session incorporated dynamic Q&A throughout, where Sally addressed individual concerns regarding supplement use, hydration protocols, and energy availability. Attendees walked away with a clear roadmap for fueling their specific athletic journeys.
